Old London town, Capital city of the United Kingdom with its history stretching back to the Roman times of Londinium is a city with an enduring fascination for tourists from all over the World. Food
It’s a common misconception that British food is bland and boring. Whilst this may arguably been the case 50 years ago it certainly isn’t today. London has been at the centre of a food revolution. Being one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world there are restaurants, market stalls and street food in London to please every palate.
From high end cuisine in Covent Garden, the deliciously authentic Chinese food of Soho and some of the finest Indian food to be had outside of the sub continent in Brick Lane and throughout the city you wont go hungry.
Entertainment
Whether it’s the theatre, opera or thrilling live sport you’ll get your fill of quality entertainment. The west end is the centre of the theatre with shows throughout the year tickets are always available.
London is home to five Premier League football clubs and numerous other league clubs so it’s the place to be if you want to see Chelsea, Arsenal or Tottenham. Even if you can’t get tickets go along to one of London’s numerous atmospheric pubs for a real taste of London pride.
Culture
London is full of fine museums, monuments and galleries. Try the British museum for a trip back in time or the Imperial war museum for war history buffs. With galleries dotted all over you wont be short of great art. The Tate modern is especially recommended.
Shopping
Millions of retail tourists come to London every year for the shopping. From bargain fashion to high end boutiques. Oxford street and the West end is the place to be.
If you’re looking for something a bit more alternative then a stroll around the markets of Camden is the place for you. With hundreds of stalls selling everything imaginable you can easily lose your day here.
Green London
No trip to London would be complete without a trip to one of the city’s many picturesque parks. On a warm summer day London’s green spaces are packed with picnicking Londoners and tourists sunning themselves and socialising.
Few visit London for the weather, but when the sun is shining and temperature is balmy the city takes on a magical atmosphere. No trip should be complete without a stroll along the southbank.
As night falls and your standing on waterloo bridge with views along the Thames of parliament, Big Ben and St Pauls cathedral you could be forgiven for thinking you arre at the centre of the world…
